The problem
I wanted a way to help my friends and family stay healthier. Fitness commitments are easier to keep when the people you care about can see your progress and share the same goal.
The bet
If workout progress is visible within a trusted group, and missing a weekly goal costs something, friends will follow through more often together.
What I built
Groups set weekly goals, log and share workouts, follow leaderboards, chat, react, and use optional penalties to make commitments tangible.
My role
I defined the group-accountability mechanics, designed the product experience, chose the architecture, built the early versions before modern coding agents, and now use AI tools to accelerate implementation, review, debugging, and testing.
What I learned
I expected the money to drive behavior. It turned out that sharing a goal with people you care about does most of the work. When a season ends, friends message me asking when the next one starts, and most say they work out more during a season than outside one.
Where it stands
- Run across repeated seasons with groups of friends and family
- When a season ends, people ask when the next one starts
- Rebuilt on Expo, Convex, and Clerk; the first version predates AI coding tools
